Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jet li (ranked 8883 p4p, 630 weight class) and Peter Steel (ranked 8138 p4p, 600 weight class). Steel has chosen Excuse Me as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Peter Steel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Steel! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel misses with a wild body shot. Steel steps into range and cracks li with a monster punch that buckles his knees! li flops backwards and Steel dives into his guard looking to finish!
It looks like Jet li has been cut. li had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Steel defends it easily. li being controlled here, momentarily. Steel won't allow li to get back to his feet. Steel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with li. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Steel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. li swivels though and keeps the full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! li can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Steel controls the pace. li keeping full guard, as Steel tries to pass. li escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Steel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. li is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
li really is a fat lump. Steel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. li is keeping the position for now. Steel controlling from the top position. li working for a triangle but Steel defends it easily.
Steel stays in close to li's body and controls the position. Let's hope that Steel has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. li might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. li has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Steel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Steel sitting in guard here, content to control. li is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. li keeping full guard, as Steel tries to pass. Steel's corner is telling him to maintain position. li is breathing heavily. Steel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. li ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. li throws a big counter combination but Steel scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. li slips a straight right by Steel. Steel waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract li. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped li to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
li can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Steel controls the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steel trying to stand up but can't free himself from li's guard. Steel looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Steel preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Steel is stalling in the full guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter Steel dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jet li's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
A big right from Steel misses. li tries to counter with a takedown but Steel is quick to defend against it. Steel moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! li goes down! Can Steel finish him!?
li is rocked! Steel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Oh li is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Steel looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. li seems to have got his legs back now. li had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Steel defends it easily. Steel content to stall in guard here.

Steel looking to control the position here, rather than advance. li tries to land a sweep but no joy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Steel is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. li slips a straight right by Steel. Steel misses the shot to the body. li is looking for a counter combo. Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Steel engages and cracks li with a massive lead left hook - li tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Steel is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
