Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Crock Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Timothy Chapman!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chapman drives through and clinches with Johnson against the cage.
Johnson is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Johnson breaks from the clinch.

Chapman throws a left that rocks Johnson and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Chapman dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Johnson regain composure!


It looks like Crock Johnson has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chapman wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.

Chapman stands up and beckons Johnson to his feet.
Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Chapman circles away.
No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt.

Chapman throws a jab but it's blocked by Johnson.

Chapman throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely.
Johnson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Chapman sprawls and moves away.

Chapman drives through and clinches with Johnson against the cage.

Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Chapman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Johnson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chapman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Johnson is in Chapman's guard.

Chapman manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Johnson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Chapman gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Chapman misses with a series of wild punches.

Johnson tries to clinch there but Chapman circles away.
Chapman is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Chapman jabs Johnson to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chapman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Chapman sneaks out the side door and pushes Johnson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Johnson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Johnson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Johnson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Johnson shoots in but no luck this time.

Chapman closes the distance and clinches.
Chapman digs a right hand underneath Johnson's ribcage. Johnson let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Johnson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Chapman after a bit of a struggle.
Chapman is working for takedown but Johnson is calmly controlling the position for now.

Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Chapman walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Chapman pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Chapman counters with a stiff right hand.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
