Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Velaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Goldberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bill Goldberg! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velaz shoots in and drives through. Goldberg sprawls well. Velaz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Velaz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Goldberg as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Velaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Goldberg looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Nice takedown defense from Goldberg. No joy for Velaz on that attempt. Goldberg is looking to clinch but Velaz is avoiding it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Velaz misses with a takedown attempt and Goldberg counters with a takedown into full mount! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Velaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Goldberg gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Goldberg trying to control the position from guard on top but Velaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Goldberg slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Goldberg stands up and waves to Velaz to follow him. Bill Goldberg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Goldberg fails in his attempt to clinch. Velaz tries for a takedown but Goldberg circles away easily and Goldberg counters with a two punch combo. Goldberg misses with a takedown attempt and Velaz counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Paul Velaz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Velaz looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Goldberg is trying to stand up here but Velaz is controlling him well. Velaz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That was a close second round but I would say that Paul Velaz will probably get the nod. That's time! Velaz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goldberg is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Goldberg wants to get up but he can't break Velaz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Velaz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Goldberg's guard. Velaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Velaz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Goldberg is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Goldberg has escaped and now he's on top! Goldberg wants to pass the guard but Velaz is keeping the position.
