Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Karter (ranked 232 p4p, 36 weight class) and Vasili Komaroff (ranked 832 p4p, 105 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 10 - 2, fighting out of New York, Chris Karter! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vasili Komaroff! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karter checks a leg kick nicely. Karter tries to counter by clinching up but Komaroff breaks away and moves out of range. Karter instigates a clinch. Karter has hold of one of Komaroff's legs. Komaroff is fighting the takedown attempt but Karter gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Karter is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Komaroff tries to land a sweep but no joy. Karter sitting in guard here, content to control. Komaroff is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Karter regains full guard. Nicely done. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Karter holds on and takes a little breather. Komaroff lands a couple of digs. Komaroff tries to free his leg and advance position but Karter is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karter wants to sweep here but Komaroff controlling him for the moment. Karter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Komaroff's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Karter stopping the sweep attempt from Komaroff. Komaroff is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Karter lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Karter preventing the sweep. Karter prevents Komaroff from getting back to his feet. Karter preventing the sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Komaroff keeps trying to improve his position. Komaroff avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Komaroff tries to land a sweep but no joy. Karter stands and throws Komaroff's legs to the side, diving into side control. Komaroff throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Karter scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Komaroff to see if he's OK. Komaroff is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Karter's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Komaroff is looking for a sweep. Karter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Karter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Karter looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Karter thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Komaroff is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Karter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Karter's back! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Komaroff lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karter rolls, trying to escape but Komaroff keeps control of the position.

Karter slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Karter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Komaroff tries to get to full guard but Karter has control of the leg. Komaroff is not content to let Karter control the position. Komaroff is trying to get back to full guard. We've been informed that Komaroff has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Karter is looking to advance position but Komaroff won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Karter slips a nice elbow through Komaroff's hands, connecting with Komaroff's forehead. Karter is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Komaroff moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Karter landing with the ground and pound. Komaroff is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Karter wants to control from the top but Komaroff keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Karter dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Karter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Komaroff. Vasili Komaroff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Karter delivers a nice body kick. Karter shoots for a double leg takedown but Komaroff sprawls well. He's pushed Karter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A big right from Komaroff misses. Karter tries to counter by clinching up but Komaroff breaks away and moves out of range. Good leg kick by Komaroff there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Komaroff shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Karter but Karter pushes him off and we're back to square one. Komaroff just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromKarter. Komaroff lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Karter throws a looping overhand right but Komaroff ducks down to avoid it. It seemed like Komaroff was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karter misses with a straight right. Komaroff throws a leg kick but Karter sees it coming and checks it nicely. Karter stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Komaroff. Karter drops his hands momentarily and Komaroff takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Komaroff moves out of range of the body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Komaroff walks into a stiff left hand from Karter. Komaroff misses with an uppercut. A telegraphed right hand from Komaroff misses the target. Komaroff tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Komaroff thows a left - swing and a miss! Komaroff thuds his shin into the meat of Karter's side. Karter lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Karter moves into the clinch successfully.
A shot in the inside from Komaroff. Karter is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Karter can't find room to land a body shot as Komaroff controls the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is keeping an eye on Komaroff - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Karter moves in looking to clinch but Komaroff pushes him off. Komaroff throws a sloppy head kick and Karter moves out of range easily. Karter is looking to counter the offense by Komaroff and move into the clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Komaroff with a nice cross.
It looks like Chris Karter has been cut. Karter connects with a single shot there. Komaroff throws a sloppy head kick and Karter counters with a head kick that drops Komaroff - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground!
Komaroff is rocked! The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Karter lands a nice short elbow. Komaroff is still in real trouble! Can Karter finish him? Karter landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Karter trying to mount his opponent but Komaroff defends it. Karter wants to take a breather but Komaroff is having none of it. Karter is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Komaroff is hurt! He's hurt bad - Karter fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Komaroff from any more punishment! Congratulations to Karter! Great finish!

Vasili Komaroff was interviewed post fight and said 'I will come back stronger and stronger and that belt will be mine again!'.
