Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin Boogie (ranked 6054 p4p, 257 weight class) and Disco Kid (ranked 6358 p4p, 260 weight class). Boogie's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Dance Dance Dance - Steve Miller Band. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benjamin Boogie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Disco Kid!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boogie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kid accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kid loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Kid tries to free his leg and advance position but Boogie is retaining full guard.
Boogie is pulling down on Kid's head. It's preventing any offense from Kid, at least for the moment.

Kid drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Boogie dives on top into guard.

Kid is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Boogie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Boogie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kid has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boogie has managed to get both his arms back between Kid's legs - danger averted.
Boogie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kid can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Boogie's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Boogie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kid manages to get himself to full guard.

Kid had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Boogie defends it easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boogie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Boogie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kid has his foot on Boogie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Boogie works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kid working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Boogie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Boogie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kid is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boogie defends well.

That was a close round but I would say that Benjamin Boogie will probably get the nod.

Kid drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Boogie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kid has Boogie in his guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Benjamin Boogie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kid shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Boogie as he avoids it easily.
Boogie swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

As Kid tries to get set, Boogie tries to push him back and clinch up but Kid manages to avoid the attempt.

Kid seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Kid has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boogie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close second round but I would say that Benjamin Boogie will probably get the nod.

Kid has gone for a leg lock! Boogie slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kid's guard.

Boogie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kid has hold of Boogie's hands but Boogie slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Boogie seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Boogie is trying to stick to Kid's back but Kid is turning into Boogie. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Boogie's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kid.

Kid drops back, looking for a kneebar! Boogie looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Boogie looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Boogie!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Well Boogie has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
