Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yonglong Li (ranked 489 p4p, 70 weight class) and Erick Darko (ranked 947 p4p, 135 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Darko's choice of entrance music: S.C.O.S.A - Flatbush Zombies. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Erick Darko!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li misses with a straight right.
Li throws a low kick but Darko moves out of range easily.
Darko misses with a body punch
and Li counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Darko lands with an uppercut that bounces Li off the cage and back into range.
It looks like Yonglong Li has been cut.
Darko throws a right hand that misses
and Li counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Li throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Darko on the side of the head.
Darko misses with an uppercut
and Li connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Darko tries to close the distance and clinch but Li swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Li is looking for a counter combo.
Li lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Darko throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Li on the side of the head.
Darko scores with a nice right hand.

Darko tries to move into range but Li moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Li has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hellfire Antechamber in the buildup to the fight.

Li was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Li lands with a shot to the body.

Li lands a nice shot that snaps Darko's head back.
Li feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Darko's calf.

Darko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Li, pushing him back against the cage.
Li is trying to stall.
Li blocks an uppercut.
Darko tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Li prevents a body shot from Darko.
Li throws a head punch that misses.
Darko blocks an uppercut.
Darko pushes Li back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Darko's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Darko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Darko misses with a wild combination.
Li half committed to a counter leg kick.

Li throws a body punch but Darko moves out of range.
Darko looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Darko looks to land a right hand but Li moved out of range.
Darko jabs Li to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Li turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Darko throws a head punch that misses.
Darko tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Li's elbow.
Darko blocking some punches.
A nice left hand lands by Li.
Darko lands a hook to the side of the head.
Darko blocks an uppercut.
Li scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Darko misses with a hook from the clinch.

Li pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Darko shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Li counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Darko throws a right and a left that both miss.
Li moves out of range as Darko strikes.
An attempted straight right counter from Li misses the target.
Darko throws a hook to the side of Li's head but Li sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Li looks to score with a jab to the body but Darko is just out of range.
Li chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Li steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Darko.
Darko moves in looking to clinch but Li pushes him off.
Li lands with a nice body punch.
Darko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Li.
Li is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Darko might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

and Darko counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Darko misses with an uppercut. Li saw that one coming.
Li is looking for a counter combo.
Darko looks to throw the jab but Li is out of range.

Li explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Li lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Yonglong Li is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Darko misses with a series of wild punches.
Li scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Darko scores with a punch to the head.
Darko misses with a takedown attempt
and Li counters with a head kick that drops Darko to the mat! Darko scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Darko is rocked!
Darko slips a jab and a cross from Li.
Darko is still on wobbly legs! Can Li finish him?
Li measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Darko! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Yonglong Li!
