PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bann Harrow (ranked 4404 p4p, 512 weight class) and King Murhaa (ranked 3667 p4p, 453 weight class). The key to victory for Bann Harrow has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bann Harrow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Murhaa!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harrow gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harrow has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Murhaa's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Harrow not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Harrow pulls Murhaa in to control the position.
Murhaa slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Harrow seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harrow is trying to control the position but Murhaa postures up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Harrow seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Murhaa closes the distance and pushes Harrow back into the cage.

Murhaa has picked Harrow up - he's going for a ride! Murhaa dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Murhaa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Harrow's head.
Murhaa slows the pace down in half guard.
Let's hope that Murhaa has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Murhaa.
Harrow is looking for a sweep. Murhaa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Murhaa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Harrow wants to improve his position but Murhaa is controlling well.

Murhaa is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Harrow is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Murhaa is taking a breather. Harrow says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
It looks like Murhaa might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Harrow wants to control but Murhaa is keeping busy.

Murhaa's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Murhaa wants to free his trapped foot but Harrow is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Murhaa keeps trying to improve his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Murhaa.
Harrow uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Murhaa.
Harrow throwing a counter right hand but Murhaa manages to avoid it.
Harrow uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Murhaa.
Harrow throws a push kick but Murhaa slaps the foot to one side.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Murhaa crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Harrow - the referee stops the clock and Murhaa gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Harrow. Murhaa manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Harrow walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Murhaa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Murhaa showed some decent athleticism there.
Harrow wants to control the action here but instead Murhaa manages to pass to full mount!
Murhaa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Harrow is looking to escape.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Murhaa tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Murhaa avoids the attempt from Harrow to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King Murhaa dominated that round.

Murhaa misses with a hook. Harrow ducked under it nicely.
Harrow moves out of range as Murhaa strikes.
Murhaa dives in and grabs Harrow's left leg, looking for a takedown. Harrow pushes down on Murhaa's head and hops out.
Harrow scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Harrow enables Murhaa to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Harrow manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Murhaa thows a huge punch but Harrow dodges it nicely.

Harrow is looking to control Murhaa's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Harrow avoid being mounted?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Harrow is trying to control the position but Murhaa postures up.

Murhaa drives through with a takedown into Harrow's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Murhaa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Harrow swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Harrow wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Murhaa's corner calls for a 1-2. Murhaa obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Bann Harrow has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Murhaa misses with a takedown attempt - Harrow sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Harrow stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Murhaa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Harrow's waist but Harrow gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Murhaa off to one side.
Bann Harrow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Murhaa.

and Harrow counters with an outside leg kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Harrow.

and Harrow counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Murhaa slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Harrow moves away from the strike by Murhaa.
Harrow throws a wild body kick that Murhaa sees coming a mile off.
Murhaa scores with a hook to the body. Harrow takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Harrow is trying to control but Murhaa passes into side control!

Harrow tries to bench press Murhaa off him but Murhaa keeps the position.

Murhaa takes a little break here. Harrow wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Murhaa tries to move to mount but Harrow blocks the move with his legs.
Murhaa is staying tight to Harrow's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Harrow is looking to regain half guard here but Murhaa keeps moving and retains side control.

Murhaa is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Harrow is trying to control Murhaa's posture but Murhaa avoids it.
The referee asks Murhaa politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Murhaa prefers to stall for the moment though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Harrow gets back to half guard.
Harrow is pressing down on Murhaa's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Harrow wants to control the position but Murhaa says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

King Murhaa is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Harrow looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Murhaa pushes past his half guard into mount!

King Murhaa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Murhaa winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
