The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edwards Nielsen jabbing away but nothing is landing. Edwards Nielsen looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Quinn scores with a head kick.
Quinn throws a nice looking combination but Edwards Nielsen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Edwards Nielsen throws a combination that misses and Quinn counters with a shoot takedown. Edwards Nielsen fights it but they end up in guard. Quinn drops back looking for a leg! Edwards Nielsen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Edwards Nielsen manages to kick Quinn off! Quinn jumps back into Edwards Nielsen's guard. Quinn tries to free his leg and advance position but Edwards Nielsen is retaining full guard. Quinn is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Edwards Nielsen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Edwards Nielsen has escaped and now he's on top! Quinn is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Quinn keeping full guard, as Edwards Nielsen tries to pass. Edwards Nielsen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Edwards Nielsen drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Quinn dives on top into guard. Edwards Nielsen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Quinn is pushing down on Edwards Nielsen's leg trying to pass to half guard. Edwards Nielsen is fighting to maintain full guard but Quinn has managed to sneak the leg through. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Quinn passes to full mount! Quinn is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Edwards Nielsen has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Edwards Nielsen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Quinn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Quinn is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Edwards Nielsen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quinn has control of Edwards Nielsen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Edwards Nielsen regains control of the situation pretty easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Quinn lands a big shot there that rocks Edwards Nielsen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Quinn is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Edwards Nielsen is surviving well by controlling Quinn's body position as best he can. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Edwards Nielsen tries to hold on but Quinn postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edwards Nielsen is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Quinn locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Edwards Nielsen is forced to tap!
