Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Wayde West (ranked 3550 p4p, 71 weight class) and Scott Watt (ranked 3128 p4p, 68 weight class). West comes to the ring accompanied by Sober. Watt comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Edmund Fitzgerald kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Wayde West could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Scott Watt's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wayde West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Watt!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West slips a jab and a cross from Watt.
Watt throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A head kick misses from West.
Watt's jab looks to have found its range, popping West under the eye.
West shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.


It looks like Wayde West has been cut.
Watt is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


West is rocked!

West clinches up with Watt and pushes him back against the ropes.
Oh West is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Watt pushes off an throws an elbow but West leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes.

Watt is pushing West up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Watt has a couple of punches blocked by West.
West is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Watt is keeping busy.

With the fighters up against the ropes, Watt throws an elbow but misses.
Watt lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of West backwards.
Watt lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Watt tries to throw a body punch but West avoids it by throwing Watt back against the ropes.
Watt told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

West moves into range and clinches up with Watt.

Watt throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Watt pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.
Watt using the Thai plumb to throw knees but West has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

West drives through and clinches with Watt against the ropes.

Watt pushes West back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch.
Watt's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Watt creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through West's defenses.

Watt clobbers West with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Scott Watt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

West went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

West throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Watt misses with a right hand

and West counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by West.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Watt is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

West has closed the distance and engaged Watt in a clinch.

West lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Scott Watt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


West takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
West uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Watt.
West slips under a jab.
West closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Watt fails to land with a series of punches.
Watt throws a nice looking combination but West bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

West rushes Watt and presses him up against the ropes.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
West is trying to push Watt away but Watt has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
West blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sloppy strikes from West. Those never looked like landing.
Watt misses with a jab, cross combination.

West rushes Watt and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Well,West is on his way to losing a decision here. Can he use his experience to pull something off in the closing minutes?

Watt lands a hook that snaps the head of West backwards.
The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows.
Watt misses with a punch to the body.
Wayde West has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Watt creates a bit of space and fires a knee right up the middle, almost lifting West off his feet and sending him crashing to the canvas! West is trying to get back to his feet but his equilibrium is completely gone! The referee has called it off! This fight is over! Watt is jumping up and down like a mad man, celebrating with his cornermen.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Scott Watt!
Scott Watt decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
