The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Tynes misses. Tynes looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Ari Tynes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McCready connects with the punch. Tynes throws a right and a left that both miss. McCready slips under a jab from Tynes. Tynes goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. McCready lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Tynes sprawling to the canvas. McCready follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Tynes hang on?
Tynes is rocked! McCready is working for a kimura but Tynes is defending it quite comfortably.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McCready is working for a kimura but Tynes is defending it quite comfortably.
McCready looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tynes is looking to improve his position.
McCready wants to take a breather but Tynes is having none of it. McCready is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tynes defends it well. Tynes is trying to maintain the position but McCready is very close to passing his half guard. Tynes is refusing to be controlled, as McCready sits in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. McCready is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tynes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McCready. Tynes trying to hold on to McCready's head to control him but McCready postures up.
Tynes looks gassed!
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tynes throws a left and a right that both miss
and McCready counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Tynes on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
McCready throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice jab there from McCready. McCready fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A right-left combo lands from McCready. Tynes is still on wobbly legs! Can McCready finish him? McCready comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. McCready throws a pinpoint strike between Tynes's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Tynes crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and McCready scores a great knockout victory!
