The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owen forces McScrawnerson back against the cage and clinches.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
McScrawnerson shoots in for a takedown but Owen shows good takedown defense.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McScrawnerson misses with a takedown attempt - Owen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Owen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Owen wants to work for an arm triangle but McScrawnerson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
McScrawnerson tries to get to full guard but Owen has control of the leg.

McScrawnerson is controlling Owen's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Owen is trying to control the action in half guard but McScrawnerson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

McScrawnerson is keen to just control but Owen is a slippery customer.

McScrawnerson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Owen is just riding it out for now. McScrawnerson eventually gives up the hold.
McScrawnerson blocks the strikes from Owen.

Owen wants to control but McScrawnerson is keeping busy.
McScrawnerson works his foot free and advances to mount.
McScrawnerson swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
