Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Garuda Eagle (ranked 5609 p4p, 608 weight class) and Mikael Eholm (ranked 7986 p4p, 732 weight class). Mikael Eholm will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eagle shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Eagle takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Eagle throws a leg kick
letting Eholm counter with a right hand.
Eagle feints and as Eholm raises his hands in defense, Eagle changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Eholm really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Eagle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Eagle throws an elbow that misses. Eholm uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Eagle's guard. Nice move by Eholm!
Eholm tries to stand but Eagle is controlling from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eagle looking for subs off his back but Eholm has passed one foot through into half guard.
Eagle is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Hercules Training Center, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Good leg kick by Eholm there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Eagle shoots in and drives through. Eholm sprawls well.
A little jabbing left from Eholm on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Eholm leaves Eagle with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Eholm was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Eholm counters with a nice uppercut.
Eagle throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Eagle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Eholm swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Eagle throws a sloppy head kick and Eholm moves out of range easily.
Eagle backing away here, and Eholm unleashes a leg kick that just misses.

Eagle misses with a leg kick
and Eholm counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Eholm looks at the referee who does nothing so Eholm lands a crushing right that sends Eagle to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
