Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Osipczak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Simeone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simeone is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Brucia Ancora. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Osipczak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Diego Simeone!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Osipczak moves in looking to clinch but Simeone pushes him off.
Osipczak misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Osipczak shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Osipczak gets the takedown into side control.

Osipczak goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Simeone rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Osipczak's guard! Nice work there by Simeone!
Simeone is pushing down on Osipczak's leg trying to pass to half guard. Osipczak is fighting to maintain full guard but Simeone has managed to sneak the leg through.
Simeone is taking a breather. Osipczak says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Osipczak tries to roll over but Simeone keeps him under control.

Simeone escapes and gets back to his feet.

Osipczak gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Osipczak fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Osipczak is breathing heavily.

Simeone shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Simeone performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Simeone stands up and beckons Osipczak to join him on the feet.
Simeone steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Osipczak.

Osipczak tries for a takedown but Simeone circles away easily

and Simeone counters with a takedown into side control.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Osipczak. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Simeone happy to just control the position for now.
Simeone really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Osipczak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
I looks like Simeone might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Osipczak gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Simeone decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Osipczak's guard.

Simeone won't allow Osipczak to sweep him here.

Simeone must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Let's hope that Simeone has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A combination from Osipczak does no damage.
Simeone rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Osipczak moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Simeone shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

and Osipczak counters with a series of strikes. Simeone will be more careful next time no doubt.
Simeone throws a right and a left that both miss.
Osipczak tries to clinch there but Simeone circles away.
Simeone will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Simeone gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Simeone wants to stand but Osipczak is controlling the position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Osipczak thows a big elbow that misses.
Osipczak won't allow Simeone to sweep him here.
Simeone lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Osipczak!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Osipczak sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Simeone wants to pass the guard but Osipczak is defending well.
Osipczak trying to hold on to Simeone's head to control him but Simeone postures up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Osipczak is trying to control but can't.
Simeone controlling the action here.

No joy there for Simeone, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Simeone tries for a takedown but Osipczak sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Simeone takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Simeone falls off balance throwing a combination
and Osipczak counters with a head kick.
Osipczak misses with a series of wild punches.
Osipczak throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Simeone stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Simeone throws a one two combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Osipczak dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Simeone throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Osipczak.
Simeone misses with a wild combination.
Simeone misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Osipczak tries to close the distance and clinch but Simeone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Osipczak goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Osipczak misses with a few strikes there.

Simeone looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Osipczak!
Simeone takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Osipczak is looking to improve his position but Simeone isn't that keen on the idea.

Diego Simeone has got the better of the ground game so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Osipczak gets back to half guard.
Still in half guard, Simeone seems content to control.

Simeone closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Osipczak to the mat! Osipczak manages to get full guard.

Simeone's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Osipczak tries to roll over but Simeone keeps him under control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Diego Simeone comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Simeone has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
