Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Micky Ward (ranked 6098 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Dae Chung (ranked 8049 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee Dae Chung is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Micky Ward! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lee Dae Chung! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chung tries for a takedown but Ward sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Chung closes the distance and pushes Ward back into the cage. Chung tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ward smiles and moves away.
Chung goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Chung tries to clinch but Ward is having none of it. Ward fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Ward has a takedown stuffed. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chung stuffs the takedown attempt from Ward. Ward gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micky Ward. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ward shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chung's guard. Chung wants to get back to his feet but Ward passes into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Ward seems content to control. Chung wants to get back to his feet.
Chung wants to get back to full guard. Chung is trying to stand up here but Ward is controlling him well. Chung is looking to control Ward's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chung avoid being mounted? Ward is trying to control the action in half guard but Chung is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Chung controlling the position for now. Ward throwing shots but Chung is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ward is pressing down on Chung's thigh, looking to free his foot. Chung is holding on for now. Ward wants to control but Chung is keeping him busy. Chung actively working from the bottom here. Ward is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chung shoots for a double leg takedown but Ward sprawls well. He's pushed Chung's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Chung gets caught napping as Ward dives in and scores a takedown. Chung manages to retain guard. Chung throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Ward wants to control from the top but Chung keeps moving. Ward is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Chung is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chung looking for a sweep. Not yet Chung, not yet. Chung controls Ward momentarily but Ward frees himself.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Ward tries to clinch there but Chung circles away.
Chung throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ward's waist but Ward gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chung off to one side. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chung lands with a thumping leg kick.
Chung stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Chung wants it to stay on the feet. Ward changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chung tries to avoid it but Ward manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chung to the ground. Chung escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Chung raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Micky Ward will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Chung walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Nice uppercut there from Chung. Ward gets a takedown into half guard. Chung is looking to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ward is thwarting Chung's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chung is staying active underneath Ward, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Ward scoring with strikes to the body and head. Chung is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ward pulls his head out easily. Ward works his foot free and advances to mount. Ward thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ward wants to control but instead Chung manages to regain half guard. Ward wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chung keeps working. Ward thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chung's head. Ward is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Chung lands with a slapping head kick. Chung misses with the combination.
Ward keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ward swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Chung counters by clinching up. Chung drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ward gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Chung is breathing heavily. Chung wants to stall.
Chung breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Chung doesn't manage to clinch there - Ward circles away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ward keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Micky Ward has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Dae Chung. Ward fails to land the takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Micky Ward will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Chung throws a sloppy head kick and Ward moves out of range easily. Ward tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Chung shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Horrible takedown attempt by Chung or perhaps it was just good defense by Ward, which made it look bad. Chung lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Lee Dae Chung seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nice sprawl there from Chung as Ward shoots in. Ward lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Lee Dae Chung has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ward shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Chung takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ward fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Chung is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micky Ward. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ward dives in for a single leg takedown but Chung sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Nice takedown defense from Ward. No joy for Chung on that attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ward moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Micky Ward is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ward shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Chung works the jab nicely. Ward tries to work over Chung's front leg with a kick but Chung checks it. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ward lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Chung has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Chung and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Ward with a lazy takedown attempt and Chung counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Ward shoots in but no luck this time. Nice sprawl there from Ward as Chung shoots in. Chung fails to land the takedown. Chung fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ward changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Ward rushes Chung and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Chung wants a takedown.
Chung escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Chung shoots in looking for a takedown but Ward manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chung's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ward takes the fight into the clinch. Chung changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ward fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Ward tries for a takedown but Chung sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Ward fails to land the takedown. Chung keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Chung moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Chung tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ward sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chung somewhat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Chung as Ward shoots in. Ward shoots in and drives through. Chung sprawls well. Chung lands a lovely overhand right. Chung lands with a thumping leg kick.
Chung fails to land with a series of punches.
Nice takedown defense from Chung. No joy for Ward on that attempt. Chung keeps the fight on the outside. Chung shapes to counter with a head kick. Chung throws a right hand that Ward ducks under and follows up with a left that Ward also avoids with ease. Ward has a takedown stuffed.
And that's the end of the fight! Lee Dae Chung comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Ward has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
