The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Bowen as Avila shoots in.
Bowen lands a left and a right that send Avila crashing to the mat, dazed. Bowen thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Myron Avila has been cut.
Bowen buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Avila gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bowen to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Avila wants to get back to his feet but Bowen passes into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bowen is trying to control the action in half guard but Avila is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Avila could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bowen in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Avila tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Bowen!
