Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Neil Nucombe (ranked 650 p4p, 83 weight class) and Maxwell Booker (ranked 776 p4p, 93 weight class). Maxwell Booker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Neil Nucombe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Maxwell Booker! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nucombe connects with a body shot that sends Booker's belly button to the back. Booker with a lazy takedown attempt and Nucombe counters with a nice body shot. Nucombe takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Booker fails with the takedown and Nucombe counters with a lovely straight right hand! Nucombe stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Nucombe digs a good body shot into Booker's ribs. Booker looks for a takedown but Nucombe sprawls well. A little feinted left hand from Nucombe on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Neil Nucombe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maxwell Booker. Nucombe comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nucombe cracks a nice hook into Booker's ribs. Booker gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Nucombe scores with a nice strike. Nucombe misses with a wild body shot. Booker with the counter takedown but Nucombe avoids it easily. Nucombe scores with a jab to the head.
A lazy left from Nucombe finds it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Booker ducks right into an uppercut from Nucombe. Nucombe scores with a crisp jab that stopped Booker in his tracks.
Booker is rocked! Nucombe waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Booker. Booker feints the counter takedown. Neil Nucombe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nucombe misses with a body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nucombe connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Booker avoids the body shot from Nucombe.
Booker tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Booker tries for a takedown but Nucombe circles away easily and Nucombe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Booker walks into a straight right hand from Nucombe. Booker shoots for a double leg takedown but Nucombe sprawls well. He's pushed Booker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nucombe scores with a sloppy right hand. Booker should have avoided that one. Nucombe misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Booker.
Booker changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Nucombe throws an off balance right hand
and Booker counters with a shoot takedown. Nucombe fights it but they end up in guard. Booker throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Booker stays in close to Nucombe's body and controls the position. Nucombe keeping moving, preventing Booker from controlling successfully. Nucombe has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Booker with a flurry of punches that miss. Nucombe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nucombe tries to get out of the position. Booker works a leg free and moves into half guard. Booker takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Booker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nucombe's head. Booker not landing any meaningful shots this time. Booker winds up and cracks Nucombe with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Booker thows a huge punch but Nucombe dodges it nicely.
Booker is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nucombe is just riding it out for now. Booker eventually gives up the hold. This has been an exciting period of action! Booker is looking to pass Nucombe's guard but actually Nucombe recovers to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Neil Nucombe dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Nucombe counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Booker thinking. Nucombe connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Booker momentarily.

and Booker counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nucombe won't be happy with that. Booker is looking to take a break and control but Nucombe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nucombe takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Booker landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Nucombe defending against the ground and pound. Booker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The ground and pound from Booker seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Booker moves into full mount! Booker thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Booker wants to control the pace but Nucombe is squirming around nicely. BOOM! Booker connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Booker lands a couple of good shots and Nucombe has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Booker lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Booker.
Nucombe is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Nucombe defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Booker's arms. Booker has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Nucombe! Can he survive? No! He's out! Booker gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Maxwell Booker! Our winner, Maxwell Booker, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
