Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Halibut Halibut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Halibut has chosen Peter You Suck as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Halibut Halibut!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halibut misses with a two punch combination.
Johnson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Halibut pushes him off.
Halibut moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Johnson is looking to clinch.
Halibut fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Johnson on the side of the head.
Halibut throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson.
Halibut throws a front kick that sends Johnson stumbling back into the cage.
Halibut Halibut seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
Halibut looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Halibut throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Halibut lands a nice looking kick to the body. Johnson takes a step back to recover.
Halibut scores with a three punch combo!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Halibut scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Halibut closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Johnson to the mat! Johnson manages to get full guard.
Halibut slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Halibut is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Halibut working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Johnson trying to remain calm as Halibut controls from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Halibut is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Halibut trying to control the position but Johnson is working away.

Halibut tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Halibut scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Johnson to see if he's OK.

Halibut has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Johnson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Halibut yanks on the arm and Johnson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Halibut.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Halibut Halibut!
