Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Glass Joe (ranked 1637 p4p, 81 weight class) and Daichi Kishimoto (ranked 2222 p4p, 109 weight class). Joe comes to the cage accompanied by La Marseillaise. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Glass Joe!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daichi Kishimoto!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Watson and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kishimoto moves away from the strike by Joe.
Joe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Joe scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
The fighters circle momentarily. Joe darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kishimoto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Joe pinned against the cage. Joe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Joe misses with an uppercut.
Joe jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kishimoto changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Joe throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And Kishimoto tries to counter it with a takedown but Joe pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Joe throws out a loose jab but Kishimoto uses good head movement to avoid it.
As Joe backs off Kishimoto throws a huge counter combo but Joe manages to avoid it all.
Joe looks to throw the jab but Kishimoto is out of range.
Kishimoto dodges the punch combination from Joe.
Kishimoto shoots in but no luck this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kishimoto drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kishimoto takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Kishimoto displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Joe throws out the jab.
Joe definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kishimoto or perhaps it was just good defense by Joe, which made it look bad.
Glass Joe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daichi Kishimoto.
Joe misses with a straight left.
Kishimoto has his takedown stuffed
and Joe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kishimoto misses with a takedown attempt - Joe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Glass Joe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kishimoto drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Joe works the jab nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Joe lands a nice shot that snaps Kishimoto's head back.
Joe misses with a combination

and Kishimoto counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kishimoto.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kishimoto drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kishimoto jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kishimoto passes Joe's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Kishimoto seems to be working for a kimura but Joe defends the submission attempt.
Kishimoto is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Kishimoto takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Joe is in all sorts of trouble here.

Kishimoto is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Kishimoto!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Daichi Kishimoto!
Daichi Kishimoto is the new bantamweight champion!
After the big win, Daichi Kishimoto made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Freebok (85% Laundry) and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
The defeated Glass Joe had this to say: 'Was still more fun than my boxing matches used to be'.
