Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chev Chelios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Roberts's choice of entrance music: ridda. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts looks for a takedown but Chelios sprawls well.
A right-left combo lands from Chelios.
It looks like Jake Roberts has been cut.
Chelios lands a nice shot to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Roberts looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Roberts shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chelios as he avoids it easily.

Chelios looks to land a combination. Roberts sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Chelios tries to close the distance and clinch but Roberts swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Chelios looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chelios throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Roberts's waist but Roberts gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chelios off to one side.

Roberts tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chelios paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Chelios misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Roberts has managed to clinch.
Roberts landing knees to the body.
Roberts jumps into guard, dragging Chelios to the mat.

Roberts is trying to control the position but Chelios postures up.
Roberts has his foot on Chelios's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chelios works his way back into a safe position though.

Chelios tries to free his leg and advance position but Roberts is retaining full guard.

Chelios thuds his right hand into Roberts's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Roberts is keen to just control but Chelios is a slippery customer.

Chelios gets back to full guard.
Roberts drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Chelios dives on top into guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chelios wants to get up but he can't break Roberts's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The cut man is working on Jake Roberts's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Chelios misses with a two punch combination.
Roberts takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Roberts closes the distance and pushes Chelios back into the cage.
Roberts lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Roberts manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Roberts is going olschool here, as he tries to force Chelios to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Chelios shrugs it off.
A nice elbow there by Roberts.

Roberts fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Roberts prevents Chelios from getting the reversal.
Chelios wants to control but Roberts is having none of it.
Roberts throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Chelios has his hands clasped together but Roberts breaks the hold and Chelios is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Roberts!
