Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Scott Columbus (ranked 18359 p4p, 261 weight class) and George Peterson (ranked 20843 p4p, 289 weight class). Columbus comes to the ring accompanied by Blood Of The Kings. Peterson has chosen Rhyme Asylum - Poison Penmanship as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Scott Columbus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Peterson! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Columbus misses with a hook to the body
and Peterson counters with a nice leg kick. Peterson throws out a loose jab but Columbus uses good head movement to avoid it. Columbus throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Peterson looks to throw a body kick enabling Columbus to counter with a crisp jab. Peterson misses with a lunging right hand
and Peterson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Columbus walks into a straight right hand from Peterson. Peterson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Nice defenses there by Peterson. Peterson throws a body punch but Columbus moves out of range. Columbus looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Peterson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Columbus's sensitive parts. A nice leg kick lands there from Peterson. Columbus misses with an uppercut. Peterson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Columbus keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson connects with a body shot. Columbus pivots, looking for a leg kick but Peterson is out of range and Columbus settles back down. Columbus throws a shot from downtown. Peterson moves away and avoids it. Peterson throws a front kick that sends Columbus stumbling back into the ropes. Columbus takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Peterson. Columbus throws a quick counter head kick but Peterson was just out of range. Columbus swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Columbus lands with a kick to the ribs.

Columbus lands a nice hook to Peterson's body. Peterson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Columbus throws a shot from downtown. Peterson moves away and avoids it. Peterson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Peterson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Peterson on the wrong end of a nice hook. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Peterson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Peterson.

Peterson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Columbus rather than just go for the knockout. Peterson connects with a body shot that sends Columbus's belly button to the back. Columbus scores with a hook to the body. Peterson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Peterson misses with a wild body shot. A nice leg kick lands there from Peterson. Columbus misses with a looping left. Columbus sizes up Peterson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like George Peterson has been cut. Columbus takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. George Peterson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Peterson looks to land a combination but Columbus avoids it well. Columbus looks to land a body kick but Peterson moved away. Columbus misses with a body kick. Peterson connects with a leg kick. Columbus looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Columbus displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Peterson throws out the jab. It seemed like Peterson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Columbus throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Columbus throws a hook to the side of Peterson's head but Peterson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peterson checks a leg kick. Peterson looks to land a body kick but Columbus moved away. Peterson throws a leg kick but Columbus sees it coming and moves out of range. Columbus is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Columbus tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Peterson was well out of range. Poor timing from Columbus. Columbus throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Columbus throws a half hearted mid kick. Peterson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Peterson misses with a right hand and Columbus connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Columbus cracks Peterson with an open hand slap. Columbus misses with a right hand and Peterson counters with a straight right hand. Peterson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Columbus was well out of range. Poor timing from Peterson. Columbus looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Peterson throws a head kick but Columbus moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Columbus walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Peterson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Peterson thuds a left hand into Columbus's body.

Peterson misses with a wild body shot. Columbus feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Peterson's calf. Columbus moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. and Peterson counters with a stiff right hand. Columbus is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Peterson. Peterson throws a right and a left that both miss. Peterson jabs Columbus to the body, keeping him at a distance. Peterson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Columbus connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Columbus is looking to score with low kicks. Peterson misses with an uppercut. Columbus thumps Peterson with a low kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Scott Columbus will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on George Peterson's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Columbus takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Columbus throws a jab when Peterson was well out of range. Peterson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Columbus comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Columbus throws a solid leg kick but Peterson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Columbus. Peterson uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Peterson has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. A big left from Columbus misses. Peterson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Peterson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Columbus throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Columbus is looking to slow Peterson down with leg kicks. Columbus misses with a low kick.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Scott Columbus. I think Columbus has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
