Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jc Cobb (ranked 5780 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaplan Temrezov (ranked 5220 p4p, 0 weight class). Jc Cobb has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jc Cobb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kaplan Temrezov!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Temrezov pushes Cobb up against the cage in a clinch.

Temrezov jumps guard and drags Cobb to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Temrezov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cobb can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cobb will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cobb's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Cobb has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Temrezov is proving hard to escape from.
Cobb is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cobb decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Temrezov, up you get!

Temrezov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cobb pulls Temrezov in close to prevent any damage.
Temrezov stays in close to Cobb's body and controls the position.
Temrezov looking to sit in guard and control but Cobb gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Temrezov is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Cobb won't allow Temrezov to get back to his feet.

Cobb stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Temrezov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Temrezov escapes and gets back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Temrezov scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Cobb is trying to control but can't.
Temrezov is trying to control. Cobb wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Temrezov wants to stand up but Cobb manages to regain full guard.
Temrezov looking to sit in guard and control but Cobb gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Temrezov is pulling down on Cobb's head to control his posture.

Cobb is looking to work some ground and pound but Temrezov has wrist control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cobb shoots in for a takedown but Temrezov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Temrezov closes the distance and pushes Cobb back into the cage.
Cobb wants to break the clinch but can't.
Temrezov is looking to break free of the clinch but Cobb has double underhooks.
Cobb really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Temrezov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Temrezov closes the distance and clinches.
Cobb tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Cobb tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Temrezov just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jc Cobb. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Temrezov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Cobb looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Temrezov lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Cobb pulls guard effortlessly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Temrezov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Temrezov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Cobb looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Temrezov wants to control from the top but Cobb keeps moving.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Temrezov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Cobb has his foot on Temrezov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Temrezov works his way back into a safe position though.
Temrezov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Temrezov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cobb is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Temrezov, into his guard.

Cobb stands up from Temrezov's guard - Cobb perhaps looking for a knockout.

Temrezov closes the distance and pushes Cobb back into the cage.

Temrezov wants to stand up but Cobb is controlling him.

Cobb decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A looping hook to the body misses from Temrezov. Cobb does a little dance to reset his feet.

Temrezov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Cobb wants to control but Temrezov is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Cobb is staying active underneath Temrezov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Temrezov seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kaplan Temrezov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Temrezov dives in and scores a takedown into Cobb's guard.
Cobb has Temrezov pulled in close to control his posture.
Temrezov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cobb has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Temrezov looking to sit in guard and control but Cobb gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Temrezov wants to pass to mount but Cobb is defending the position.
Cobb is controlling Temrezov's trapped leg to prevent Temrezov from advancing to side control.
Cobb has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Temrezov is working away from the top position though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Temrezov in particular looking to stall.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Temrezov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Cobb shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Temrezov tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Temrezov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Temrezov in side control, throwing shots but Cobb defends.
Cobb is trying to control Temrezov's posture but Temrezov avoids it.

Kaplan Temrezov has got the better of the ground game so far.

Kaplan Temrezov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Temrezov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
