Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rolland Lambert! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Connor Carter! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Carter thuds a left hand into Lambert's body. Lambert fails to land the takedown. Nice sprawl there from Lambert as Carter shoots in. Carter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lambert is looking to counter the offense by Carter and move into the clinch. Rolland Lambert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Connor Carter. Lambert tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carter swats him away and circles back towards the center. Carter circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lambert shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Carter manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Carter scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lambert tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The fight moves into the clinch position. Carter stalling.
Carter's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Lambert tries to pull guard but Carter won't allow it.
Carter breaks from the clinch.
Carter tries for a takedown but Lambert sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter has Lambert up against the cage in a clinch.
Lambert looking for a takedown. Carter gets control of Lambert's arms and successfully pulls guard. Carter will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Carter looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Lambert passes into half guard.
Lambert is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Carter tries to get to full guard but Lambert has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lambert not landing any meaningful shots this time. Lambert is thwarting Carter's attempts to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carter is looking for a sweep. Lambert is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Carter is looking to get back to full guard here but Lambert has managed to pass to side control instead. Carter is trying to improve his position. Lambert working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lambert postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Carter regains half guard, as Lambert was trying to land strikes. Lambert is thwarting Carter's attempts to control the position. Carter regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Lambert. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lambert scoring with some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Connor Carter dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Lambert throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Carter. Lambert tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carter paws at him with a jab and circles away. Carter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lambert defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carter goes for a double leg but Lambert avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lambert continues to drive forward. Carter gets in close and instigates a clinch. Carter tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lambert just stands there and leans against the cage. Rolland Lambert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Connor Carter.

Carter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lambert but Lambert pushes him off and we're back to square one. Rolland Lambert is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Carter closes the distance and pushes Lambert back into the cage. Lambert drops down looking for an ankle pick but Carter pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lambert tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carter swats him away and circles back towards the center. Carter fails with a takedown attempt. Lambert throws a head kick that misses. Connor Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lambert as he avoids it easily. Lambert leaves Carter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Carter blocks a head kick by Lambert.
Lambert throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Carter shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Carter is breathing heavily. Lambert moves into the clinch successfully.
Carter can't get the takedown.
Carter pulls guard effortlessly. Carter isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lambert stacks Carter on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lambert! Carter takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The ground and pound from Lambert seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Carter tries to buck Lambert off but Lambert is having none of it. You can see the frustration on Carter's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Lambert fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Carter can't do much from the bottom here. Carter is looking to reverse the position. Carter parries the strikes from Lambert easily there. Lambert is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Carter to escape.
Lambert working away. Carter is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Lambert is staying active. Lambert lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Carter down.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lambert lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rolland Lambert dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Lambert throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Carter gets a clinch. Carter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Carter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Carter drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Lambert defends it well. Carter misses with a takedown attempt and Lambert counters by clinching up. Carter tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lambert smiles and moves away.
Rolland Lambert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Connor Carter. Carter gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Lambert jumps guard but Carter stands there with Lambert around his waist. Lambert gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Carter jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lambert walks away with a smile on his face. Carter gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter fails with the takedown and Lambert counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Carter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Lambert prevents the takedown attempt.

Lambert just leaning against Carter, taking a breather. Lambert gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Connor Carter seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Carter stalling.
Lambert keeps control of Carter as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Lambert goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Carter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lambert circles away. Lambert tries a head kick but it misses.
Carter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lambert pinned against the cage. Lambert gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lambert throws a head kick that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lambert instigates a clinch. Lambert leaning his opponent against the cage. Lambert fails to pull guard.
Carter tries to pull guard but Lambert won't allow it.
Carter avoiding damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Carter fails to pull the fight into his guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Rolland Lambert showed his dominance in that final round. I think Lambert has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
