Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Grappling Guy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sergio Belkacem! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Belkacem. Guy feinted with a counter takedown. Belkacem throws a right hand that Guy ducks under and follows up with a left that Guy also avoids with ease. Guy defending well as Belkacem loads up on a big left hand. Guy attempts a counter takedown but Belkacem avoids it well and moves away. Belkacem misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Guy counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Guy tries to pass to full mount but Belkacem defends it. Guy is taking a breather. Belkacem says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Guy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Belkacem does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Belkacem is positioning himself well to prevent Guy advancing to mount. Belkacem is not content to let Guy control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guy looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Belkacem is not content to let Guy control the position. Belkacem preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Belkacem has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Guy is working away from the top position though. Guy is pressing down on Belkacem's thigh, looking to free his foot. Belkacem is holding on for now. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Guy wants to take a breather but Belkacem is having none of it.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Guy drops his hands momentarily and Belkacem takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Guy takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Guy is rocked! Belkacem throws a nice looking combination but Guy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Oh Guy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Belkacem throws a series of punches but Guy avoids them all with ease. Belkacem drops Guy with a huge uppercut! Guy drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Belkacem is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sergio Belkacem! Sergio Belkacem spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
