Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Laws!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vercingetorix Frenchy!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frenchy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Frenchy misses with a takedown attempt - Laws sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Frenchy throws a right and a left that Laws avoids nicely.

Laws instigates a clinch.
Frenchy's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!


It looks like Vercingetorix Frenchy has been cut.
Laws is trying to pull guard but Frenchy has him pressed against the cage.
Laws scores with a hook to the body.
Laws managing to block the knees to the body from Frenchy.
Nice elbow from Frenchy.
Laws tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Frenchy just stands there and leans against the cage.

Laws breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Laws fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Laws. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Frenchy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Laws defends well and Frenchy ends up having to push Laws into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Laws is looking to counter punch.
Frenchy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Laws but Laws pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Frenchy lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Laws or not.
Laws has been working on his balance at Kalashnikov ELITE MMA Gym (ALL ELITE COACHES), so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Frenchy.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Laws.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Laws lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Frenchy backwards.

Frenchy is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Laws is defending well for now.
Laws lands with a left to the head.
Frenchy goes for a takedown in the clinch but Laws prevents it.
A nice right hand lands inside from Laws.
Laws lands with a short punch from the clinch.
We've been informed that Frenchy has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Frenchy wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Laws stops a takedown attempt from Frenchy.

Laws pulls guard.
Laws wants to stand and escape but Frenchy is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frenchy with a flurry of punches that miss.

Frenchy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Frenchy stands up over Laws, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Frenchy distracts Laws with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Laws working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Frenchy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frenchy lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Laws has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Frenchy has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Laws escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Laws clinches up with Frenchy and pushes him back against the cage.
Laws is looking for a takedown.
Frenchy tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Laws lands a left hand that snaps the head of Frenchy backwards.
Frenchy wants a takedown.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Laws creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Laws scores with a nice hook to the head.
Frenchy misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Laws.
Laws lands a hook to the side of the head.
Laws creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Frenchy has Laws pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Laws manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Laws throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Frenchys head.
Laws avoids a wild elbow strike from Frenchy.
Laws lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Laws wants to take the fight to the mat but Frenchy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Frenchy tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Laws avoids it.

Laws lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Laws blocks the elbow strike.

Frenchy blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A nice left hand lands by Laws.


Frenchy is rocked!
Laws throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Frenchys head.
Frenchy is still on wobbly legs! Can Laws finish him?
Laws throws a big uppercut that drops Frenchy! More strikes from Laws and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Frenchy lies dazed against the cage as Laws celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Laws!
After winning the bout, Mark Laws thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
