Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Howlett (ranked 3600 p4p, 297 weight class) and Avram Grant (ranked 6062 p4p, 414 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howlett avoids the head kick by Grant.
Grant lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Grant throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Howlett counters with a left and a right that stings Grant.
Grant is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Grant ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Howlett moves away.
Grant throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

and Howlett counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Grant down! Howlett is looking to finish but Grant is intelligently defending himself.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Howlett is in close to Grant's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Howlett is working Grant over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Howlett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Howlett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Grant really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Howlett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Howlett has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Howlett drops back looking for a leg! Grant is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Grant manages to kick Howlett off! Howlett jumps back into Grant's guard.

Grant is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Howlett scores with a couple of nice shots.

Howlett decides to stand up.
Grant throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Howlett shoots in for a double leg counter - driving through into a slam and Grant is out! The slam has knocked him out cold! Devastating for Grant but Howlett is celebrating as the crowd goes wild!
