Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gene Franco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adam Bocheck! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bocheck is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Franco throws a sloppy head kick and Bocheck moves out of range easily. Nice sprawl there from Bocheck as Franco shoots in. Franco shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bocheck is trying to defend but Franco finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Bocheck is looking to improve his position.
Bocheck actively working from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bocheck is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Franco scores with a couple of nice shots. Bocheck pushes Franco off looking to stand but Franco dives back in and keeps control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franco takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Franco is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bocheck defends it well. Bocheck is looking to control Franco's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bocheck avoid being mounted? Well, if Franco is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bocheck is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Franco scores with a couple of nice shots. Franco wants to pass to mount but Bocheck is defending the position. Franco is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Franco takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Franco with shots to the head and body - Bocheck looks very uncomfortable down there. Bocheck tries to reverse the position but Franco maintains control. Franco looking to secure an arm triangle but Bocheck defends it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franco controlling the pace for now. Bocheck really wants to buck Franco off and get back to his feet. Franco controlling from the full mount. Bocheck should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Bocheck taking shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Franco controlling from mount. Franco is landing with some decent strikes but Bocheck is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Franco controlling the position easily from mount. Franco goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Bocheck turns into him and now he's in Franco's guard.
Bocheck being controlled here momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gene Franco dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bocheck fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Sloppy strikes from Bocheck. Those never looked like landing. Franco misses with a takedown attempt and Bocheck moves into the clinch. Franco is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bocheck is defending well. Bocheck drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Franco tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bocheck just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gene Franco. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bocheck swings wildly with an uppercut but Franco uses good head movement to avoid it. Franco gets control of Bocheck's arms and successfully pulls guard. Franco will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Bocheck being controlled here momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bocheck content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Franco has locked up a guillotine! Franco's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Bocheck is holding on here and Franco must be using up a lot of energy. Bocheck has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Franco gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
