Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Rection (ranked 2293 p4p, 255 weight class) and Parker Lewis (ranked 2018 p4p, 233 weight class). Rection comes into the arena with The Clash - Bankrobber blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hugh Rection! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Parker Lewis! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Rection. Those never looked like landing. Lewis circles away from the clinch attempt and Lewis counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lewis. Rection definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Rection is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Lewis presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rection uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Lewis throws a head kick that misses and Rection counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rection throws the left hand but Lewis avoids the punch easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rection throws an overhand right that lands on Lewis's shoulder, as Lewis tries to avoid the shot. The fighters circling - Rection throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Lewis drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rection defends it well. A cross from Rection lands. Rection is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Lewis steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Rection.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rection tries to clinch but Lewis is having none of it. Lewis is looking to clinch. Rection stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Rection works the jab nicely. Lewis dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Nice shot lands for Rection. Rection with a nice cross. Lewis misses with a head kick.
Rection was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Rection swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Rection lands with a hook. Lewis tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Nice takedown defense from Rection. No joy for Lewis on that attempt. Rection is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lewis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Lewis tries to clinch but Rection moves out of range. Rection takes a shot right to the bread basket. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rection tries to clinch up but Lewis circles away and keeps his distance. Lewis scores with a push kick. Lewis throws a wild body kick that Rection sees coming a mile off. Lewis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rection manages to avoid it. Lewis throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Rection avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rection waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lewis. Rection stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rection wants it to stay on the feet. Lewis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lewis with the counter takedown but Rection avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lewis is defended easily by Rection. Hugh Rection has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Parker Lewis. Rection misses with a lunging right hand
and Lewis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Rection wants to get back to his feet but Lewis is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Lewis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lewis landing some decent shots from guard. Lewis won't allow Rection to get back to his feet. Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Rection is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rection wants to stand and escape but Lewis is having none of it. Lewis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rection wants to get back to his feet but Lewis is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Lewis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rection is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Rection has momentary wrist control but Lewis slips an elbow through the middle. Lewis trying to control but Rection is working from the bottom. Rection is looking to stand up but Lewis isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hugh Rection dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Rection tries to clinch but Lewis moves out of range. Lewis swats away the attempt to clinch by Rection. Lewis looks for the body kick but Rection saw that one coming. Rection scores with a hook. Rection forces Lewis back against the cage and clinches. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Lewis lands with a short shot to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lewis throws a head kick that misses. Lewis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Parker Lewis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rection clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lewis. Rection throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Lewiss head. Rection fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rection creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Lewis throws a punch but it's blocked by Rection. Rection pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Rection thows a left - swing and a miss! Hugh Rection is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lewis slips a straight right by Rection. Lewis slips under a jab from Rection. Lewis slips a jab from Rection. Lewis just misses with a punch to the body.
Lewis lands with a slapping head kick. Rection tries to clinch up but Lewis circles away and keeps his distance. Rection throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lewis.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters circling - Rection throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Lewis wants to counter the offense by Rection and move into the clinch position. Hugh Rection is winning the standup battle so far. Rection misses with a hook. Lewis ducked under it nicely. Rection lands a head shot. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lewis takes a jab right on the kisser.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lewis. Lewis shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Lewis throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Lewis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Rection seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Rection rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lewis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rection won't be happy with that. Lewis trying to control the action but Rection is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis misses with the ground and pound. Rection is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lewis is controlling him well. Lewis tries to advance to mount but can't. Rection is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Rection is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lewis can do to turn this around? Rection is working to avoid the ground and pound but Lewis connects with a decent elbow. Lewis trying to control the position but Rection is working away. Rection wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rection trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Rection tries to clinch up. Rection moves into the clinch. Rection escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rection throws a big shot that misses. Lewis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hugh Rection dominated that second round. That's time! Rection's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Lewis throws a sloppy head kick and Rection moves out of range easily. Rection takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Lewis uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rection. Lewis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Rection counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rection scores with a jab. Lewis acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Rection feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lewiss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rection paws at him with a jab and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rection wants to clinch and Lewis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Rection has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Lewis has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Lewis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A looping hook to the body misses from Lewis. Rection does a little dance to reset his feet. Rection is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Rection throws an off balance right hand
and Lewis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rection's guard. Rection wants to get back to his feet but Lewis is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Lewis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rection is keeping the position for now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lewis is still trying to improve position. Lewis throwing strikes from guard but Rection blocks nicely. Parker Lewis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rection wants to get back to his feet but Lewis is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lewis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The fighters are working up against the cage. Rection manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Lewis lands an elbow just above Rection 's eye.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rection lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Lewis backwards. Rection breaks from the clinch.
Lewis misses with a body kick. Lewis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hugh Rection seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rection tries to close the distance and clinch but Lewis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rection throws a lazy right hand but Lewis sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Lewis throws a push kick but Rection slaps the foot to one side. Rection misses with a lunging right hand
and Lewis counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Rection! Lewis misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Lewis tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Rection managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lewis.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lewis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rection keeps working. Rection is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lewis is controlling him well. Lewis lands a nice forearm strike. Rection is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Parker Lewis has got the better of the ground game so far. Lewis is looking to take a break and control but Rection is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lewis throwing shots but missing, from side control.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Parker Lewis. I think Rection has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Hugh Rection! In his post fight interview, Hugh Rection started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
