Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Man Ape (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carolus Augustus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Man Ape!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carolus Augustus!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Augustus misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ape throws a right and a left that Augustus avoids nicely.
Man Ape seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Augustus closes the distance and clinches up with Ape, looking for a takedown. Augustus pushes Ape against the cage but Ape circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ape fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ape cracks Augustus with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Augustus looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Ape finish him?
It looks like Carolus Augustus has been cut.
Augustus dodges the punch combination from Ape.
Ape swinging wilding here.
Augustus shoots in but Ape avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Man Ape has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carolus Augustus.
Augustus scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Augustus is trying to ground and pound but Ape uses the momentary lack of control by Augustus to regain half guard.

Augustus has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Augustus throws a strike but Ape rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Augustus wants to sweep but no luck.
Ape will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Augustus closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ape to the mat! Ape manages to get full guard.
Augustus throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ape works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ape wants to stand and escape but Augustus is having none of it.
Augustus loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Augustus tries to free his leg and advance position but Ape is retaining full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ape misses with a wild combination.
Ape steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Augustus is out on his feet! Ape sets himself and nearly takes Augustus's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Man Ape!
