Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cory Hill (ranked 8212 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Valdez (ranked 24024 p4p, 0 weight class). Oscar Valdez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cory Hill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscar Valdez! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valdez blocks a head kick by Hill.
Hill really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Valdez doesn't manage to clinch there - Hill circles away.
Hill moves into the clinch. Valdez manages to pull guard.
Hill trying to control but Valdez is working from the bottom. Valdez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hill has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Valdez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Valdez thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Valdez keeping moving, preventing Hill from controlling successfully. Hill won't allow Valdez to sweep him here.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hill will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Valdez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hill looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Hill drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hill won't allow Valdez to sweep him here. Hill is looking to stand up but Valdez won't let him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hill accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Valdez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hill tries to free his leg and advance position but Valdez is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hill trying to control the position from guard on top but Valdez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Valdez keeping full guard, as Hill tries to pass. Hill postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hill forces Valdez back against the cage and clinches. Hill pulls guard effortlessly. Valdez wants to control from the top but Hill keeps moving. Valdez is working Hill over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Valdez won't allow Hill to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valdez preventing the sweep. Hill looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hill can't keep his opponent in guard - Valdez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hill tries to roll over but Valdez keeps him under control. Valdez tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hill is looking to improve his position.
Hill is trying to control but can't.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Hill is refusing to be controlled, as Valdez sits in half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Hill drives through and clinches with Valdez against the cage.
Valdez pulls guard effortlessly. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hill trying to control the position from guard on top but Valdez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Valdez working for a triangle but Hill defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Valdez shoots in and drives through. Hill sprawls well. Hill gets a double leg takedown into Valdez's guard. Hill trying to control the position from guard on top but Valdez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hill tries to free his leg and advance position but Valdez is retaining full guard. Hill wants to stand but Valdez has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Valdez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Valdez prevents Hill from improving his position. Hill wants to control but Valdez is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valdez working the head and body with strikes. Hill is positioning himself well to prevent Valdez advancing to mount. Hill tries to kick Valdez off but Valdez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Hill keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Hill on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hill tries to get out of the position. Hill is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hill wants to control but Valdez is keeping busy and won't allow it. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hill is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Valdez jumps into side control! Hill tries to improve position but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hill takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valdez wants to stand but Hill has his arm trapped. Valdez trying to control the action but Hill is working from the bottom. Valdez has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hill! Valdez tries to control but Hill wriggling away. Hill is looking to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Valdez tries to control but Hill wriggling away. Valdez prevents Hill from getting the reversal. Valdez dominating with strikes here. Hill knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Valdez on the ground. Hill is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valdez raining down hammerfists from mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Valdez putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Oscar Valdez has got the better of the ground game so far. Hill keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Oscar Valdez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Valdez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Valdez!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valdez is looking to take a break and control but Hill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hill is trying to improve his position. Valdez has control of an arm but Hill manages to advance to Valdez's back!

Hill wants to control the pace but Valdez is squirming around nicely. Hill thowing shots but they're missing. Hill is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Valdez to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Valdez shrugs it off. Valdez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
