Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Geoff Deal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boris Brushnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Geoff Deal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boris Brushnikov! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brushnikov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. No joy there for Deal, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Deal thows a body shot but no joy. Brushnikov shoots in looking for a takedown. Deal tries to sprawl out of it but Brushnikov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Deal manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Deal tries a low kick but Brushnikov avoids it. Deal lands with a thumping leg kick.
Deal rushes Brushnikov and presses him up against the cage. Deal breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brushnikov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Brushnikov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's one minute gone in the round. Brushnikov trying to control from half guard but Deal is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brushnikov stops Deal from getting back to his feet.
Brushnikov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Deal's head. Brushnikov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Deal tries to roll over but Brushnikov keeps him under control. Deal keeps control of the position for the meantime. Brushnikov thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Deal to regain full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Deal throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Deal connects with a nice looking jab.
Deal thuds a left hand into Brushnikov's body. Brushnikov avoids the body shot from Deal.
Deal dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Brushnikov. That did some damage! Brushnikov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Brushnikov is looking for a kimura here.
Brushnikov not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deal is trying is best to control the position here. Brushnikov wants to work for an arm triangle but Deal is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Brushnikov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Deal keeps working. Brushnikov is working for an americana but Deal has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Brushnikov was thinking about the submission. Brushnikov looks gassed! Brushnikov is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Deal is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Deal has escaped and now he's on top!
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Brushnikov is looking for a triangle here but Deal uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Deal tries to advance to mount but Brushnikov denies him. Brushnikov seems a little lost for a moment, as Deal dominates the positioning. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Geoff Deal dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Deal changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Deal throws a good cross that connects.
Deal misses with a wild combination.
Brushnikov rushes Deal and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Brushnikov pulls guard effortlessly. Brushnikov has an active guard here but Deal has managed to pass into half guard.
Brushnikov gets full guard. Brushnikov isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Deal stacks Brushnikov on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Deal! Brushnikov is breathing heavily. Deal is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Brushnikov will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deal has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Brushnikov! Brushnikov slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Brushnikov looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Deal slows the pace down in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brushnikov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Deal is working away from the top position though. Deal with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Deal trying to pass the guard but Brushnikov defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brushnikov trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Brushnikov tries to reverse the position but Deal maintains control. Deal blocks Brushnikov's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Brushnikov tries to get back to half guard but can't. Brushnikov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Brushnikov is trying to escape the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Deal takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Deal has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brushnikov really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Geoff Deal dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Deal misses with a wild body shot. Deal tries to keep at a distance but Brushnikov has taken the fight into the clinch. Deal is leaning against Brushnikov and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Deal scores a nice knee to the body.

Deal unloads a knee to the mid-section. Brushnikov lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Deal landing knees to the body.
Deal makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Deal gets underhooks to prevent Brushnikov's takedown attempt.
Brushnikov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Brushnikov is trying to break free. Knees in the clinch landing for Deal.
Deal digs a right hand into Brushnikov's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Brushnikov's gas tank. Deal stalling in the clinch.
Brushnikov's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
That's one minute gone in the round. Deal's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Deal.
Brushnikov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Deal pinned against the cage. Deal gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Deal throws a combination. Brushnikov tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Geoff Deal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Deal lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Brushnikov at a distance.
No luck for Brushnikov with that takedown attempt. Geoff Deal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boris Brushnikov. Brushnikov slips a jab and a cross from Deal.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Deal. Geoff Deal is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Deal thows a body shot but no joy. Deal goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deal ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Deal throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Deal lands with a nice combination. Brushnikov backs away looking to recover. Deal throws a front kick that sends Brushnikov stumbling back into the cage. Deal moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Deal throws a shot to the body.
Deal closes the distance and clinches. Deal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boris Brushnikov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A slapping leg kick lands for Deal.
Brushnikov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Deal rushes Brushnikov and presses him up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deal breaks the clinch.
Deal forces Brushnikov back against the cage and clinches. Deal lands a body shot. Deal lands a body shot. Deal taking a breather. Deal breaks from the clinch.
Deal throws a head kick but Brushnikov moves out of range.
Brushnikov takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Deal misses the shot to the body. Deal misses with a body shot.

Deal looks to clinch and Brushnikov counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Brushnikov throwing shots but Deal is blocking nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brushnikov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Brushnikov is just content to waste time from the top position. Deal takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Deal is pulling down on Brushnikov's head. It's preventing any offense from Brushnikov, at least for the moment. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Brushnikov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Geoff Deal showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Deal, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
