The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamamoto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stevenson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Stevenson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yamamoto's waist but Yamamoto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stevenson off to one side.
Yamamoto fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Stevenson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Stevenson shoots in and drives through. Yamamoto sprawls well.
Katsu Yamamoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Stevenson.
Stevenson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yamamoto but Yamamoto pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Yamamoto seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Stevenson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Yamamoto is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stevenson, into his guard.

Stevenson has his foot on Yamamoto's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yamamoto works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
