Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jose Diaz (ranked 6694 p4p, 585 weight class) and Henry Chinaski (ranked 4667 p4p, 478 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jose Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Henry Chinaski! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz gets a clinch. Chinaski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chinaski paws at him with a jab and circles away. Henry Chinaski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Chinaski throws out the jab. Chinaski throws a big shot that misses. Diaz looks to score with a jab to the body but Chinaski is just out of range. Diaz thuds his right hand into Chinaski's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Diaz misses with a straight left. Jab, jab by Diaz - just one landing. Chinaski dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Good standup being displayed there by Diaz as he connects with a hook. Chinaski misses the shot to the body. Chinaski slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Diaz throws a body punch but Chinaski moves out of range.

Diaz wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Diaz lands with an uppercut that bounces Chinaski off the cage and back into range. Some wild striking there from Chinaski.

Chinaski lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Chinaski has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Chinaski misses the jab. Chinaski staying out of range there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chinaski misses with an uppercut. Diaz saw that one coming. Diaz scores with a punch to the head. Diaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chinaski moves away. Chinaski throws a poor cross that misses
and Diaz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Chinaski smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chinaski misses with a looping right. Chinaski's corner calls for a 1-2. Chinaski obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Chinaski throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Diaz jabbing away but nothing is landing. A little jabbing left from Chinaski on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Diaz staying out of range there. Diaz with a hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chinaski misses the jab. Diaz slips under a jab. Chinaski throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chinaski looks to land a right hand but Diaz moved out of range. Chinaski uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Diaz.
Diaz walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Chinaski takes a shot right to the bread basket. Diaz on the wrong end of a nice hook. Diaz looks to score with a jab to the body but Chinaski is just out of range. Chinaski throws an overhand right that lands on Diaz's shoulder, as Diaz tries to avoid the shot. Chinaski stuns Diaz with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chinaski waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Diaz. Diaz tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Chinaski manages to circle out of the way. Diaz takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Chinaski connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Diaz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chinaski. Diaz is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Diaz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Chinaski throws out the jab. Chinaski misses with a straight left. Chinaski swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Diaz appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Nice defenses there by Diaz. Diaz rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Chinaski counters with a nice uppercut. Chinaski misses the shot to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Chinaski. Diaz does a little dance to reset his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chinaski cracks Diaz with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Chinaski pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Chinaski takes a swing at Diaz's ribcage but misses. Chinaski lands with an uppercut that bounces Diaz off the cage and back into range. Chinaski ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Chinaski slips under a jab. Chinaski uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Diaz.

Chinaski swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Diaz tries to counter by clinching up but Chinaski breaks away and moves out of range. Chinaski misses the body punch and Chinaski takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Diaz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Chinaski throws out the jab. Diaz throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Chinaski has been the more effective fighter overall so far. A jab from Chinaski misses. Diaz fires out a quick counter leg kick but Chinaski just manages to avoid it. Diaz throws a chopping leg kick but Chinaski manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Chinaski might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Chinaski lands with a shot to the body.

Diaz moves into range and clinches up with Chinaski. Chinaski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Diaz instigates a clinch. Chinaski blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Chinaski has had enough of the clinch but Diaz keeps him there for the moment. Chinaski tries to circle away but Diaz has him pinned against the cage. Diaz pulls Chinaski into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Chinaski gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Chinaski lands with an uppercut that bounces Diaz off the cage and back into range. Chinaski lands with a cross. Diaz fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. A cross from Diaz lands. Chinaski swings for the body but Diaz moves out of range.
Diaz swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. A big left from Diaz misses. Chinaski unleashes a big counter combination but Diaz bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Diaz moves out of range of the strikes.

Diaz ducks right into an uppercut from Chinaski. A slow jab from Chinaski misses its intended target. Chinaski throws a lazy right hand but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Chinaski looks to land a right hand but Diaz moved out of range. Diaz misses the body punch and Chinaski counters with a lovely straight right hand! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Diaz lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Chinaski thows a left - swing and a miss! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Henry Chinaski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

It looked like Diaz wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Diaz looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Chinaski misses with an uppercut. Diaz slips a jab from Chinaski. Chinaski pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Diaz is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Chinaski. Jose Diaz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chinaski scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Diaz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Chinaski manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Diaz uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Chinaski has time to react. Diaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chinaski moves away. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Chinaski! But no joy. Diaz takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Chinaski misses the shot to the body. Diaz connects with the punch. Diaz moves into the clinch. Chinaski has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Diaz is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Diaz lands on the inside with an uppercut. Diaz tries to work over Chinaski's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Diaz misses with a punch to the body.
Diaz has Chinaski pressed against the cage, preventing Chinaski from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Chinaski wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Diaz pulls guard effortlessly. Diaz has his hands on Chinaski's head, controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chinaski is aware though and is defending well. Diaz throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Chinaski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chinaski is posturing up here but Diaz has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Chinaski tries to roll out but it's too tight and Chinaski has to tap! Slick submission there by Diaz!
