PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gamlet Loktekrutko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Elvis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elvis has chosen Elvis Presley - In The Ghetto as his entrance music. Diego Elvis told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gamlet Loktekrutko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Diego Elvis!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Elvis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Elvis works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Elvis winds up and cracks Loktekrutko with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Loktekrutko is looking for a sweep. Elvis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Loktekrutko is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Elvis is surviving well by controlling Loktekrutko's body position as best he can.

Diego Elvis dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Elvis scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Elvis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Diego Elvis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Elvis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Loktekrutko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Elvis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Loktekrutko keeps working.

Loktekrutko had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Elvis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Loktekrutko Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Elvis's back instead.
Loktekrutko doesn't have the hooks in and Elvis manages to turn into his guard.

Well Elvis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
