The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tall throws a series of strikes that have Monteiro backpedaling.
Tall throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Monteiro counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Tall is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Monteiro closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tall to the mat! Tall manages to get full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Monteiro stands and throws Tall's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tall parries the strikes from Monteiro easily there. Monteiro is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Tall to escape.

Tall is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Monteiro has just dragged him back down to the mat.
