Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Barnett (ranked 3755 p4p, 429 weight class) and Dab Calharran (ranked 4305 p4p, 482 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Barnett might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Move. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Buddy Barnett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dab Calharran! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barnett drives through with a takedown into Calharran's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Calharran wants to sweep here but Barnett controlling him for the moment. Barnett works over Calharran with some ground and pound from guard. Calharran working a defensive guard here.
Calharran really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Barnett missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Calharran not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Calharran keeping moving, preventing Barnett from controlling successfully. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Calharran can do anything to dispel that myth. Barnett wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Calharran, who protects the arm well. Barnett in side control lands a decent elbow. Barnett throws a strike aimed at the side of Calharran's head but Calharran avoids it well. Calharran prevents Barnett from moving into mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! You can see the frustration on Calharran's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Barnett works to advance to full mount. Calharran defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. BOOM! Barnett connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Calharran can't do much from the bottom here. Barnett is putting a hurting on Calharran here, landing some big shots from side control. Calharran is looking for a sweep. Calharran regains half guard. Calharran is pressing down on Barnett's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Calharran seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barnett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Barnett postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Buddy Barnett is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Barnett's corner is telling him to maintain position. Calharran manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barnett manages to get himself to full guard.
Barnett seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Barnett holds on and takes a little breather.
And that's the end of the fight! Buddy Barnett showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Barnett, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Buddy Barnett decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
