PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Biskane Garnot (ranked 8116 p4p, 460 weight class) and Dwayne King (ranked 6443 p4p, 430 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Garnot might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Tribe Called Red - Stadium Pow Wow. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Biskane Garnot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dwayne King!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King has taken the fight to the clinch.
King lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Garnot backwards.
King lands a shot to the body.
Garnot misses with a body punch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by King.
King drags the fight down to the ground.
Garnot trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Garnot definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
King working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Garnot doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Garnot manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
King is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Garnot looking to improve position, pressing down on King's thigh with his hand. King seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Garnot paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Garnot's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! King picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
