The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pascual tries to clinch there but Velasquez circles away.
Velasquez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pascual sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pascual lands with a cross.

It looks like Roberto Velasquez has been cut.
A decent looking cross lands there for Pascual.
Donk. Pascual catches Velasquez right on the button with a cross.
Pascual wants to clinch.
Velasquez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pascual gets caught flat footed, as Velasquez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Pascual pulls Velasquez in close to his closed guard and prevents Velasquez from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Velasquez is taking a breather. Pascual says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Velasquez tries to pass to full mount but Pascual defends it.

Velasquez is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pascual sees it coming and defends easily.
Velasquez is looking to take a break and control but Pascual is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Velasquez is controlling the pace.
Pascual is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Pascual's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
