Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kory Henderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ant Man! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Man looking to score a takedown here. Henderson is defending well but Man drives through and ends up in Henderson's guard. Man trying to control the position from guard on top but Henderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Henderson wants to sweep here but Man controlling him for the moment. Man wants to control from the top but Henderson keeps moving. Man got a little sloppy there for a moment and Henderson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Man has managed to get both his arms back between Henderson's legs - danger averted. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Henderson is on top in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Man working for submissions but it's allowed Henderson to get to half guard.
Henderson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Man with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Henderson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Man is looking to control Henderson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Man avoid being mounted? Henderson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Man is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Henderson working over Man with some ground and pound. Man looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Man wants to control but Henderson is keeping busy.
Man looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Man has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Henderson is working away from the top position though. Man taking some punishment here, with Henderson in his half guard. Henderson works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Henderson scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Henderson lands a big shot there that rocks Man but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Henderson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Henderson avoids the attempt from Man to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Henderson lands a heavy elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Man regains half guard. Man slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Man throws his legs up looking for a submission but Henderson uses it to pass to side control.
Man wants to control but Henderson postures up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Henderson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Man is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Henderson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kory Henderson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Man closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Man lands in his opponent's guard. Henderson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Henderson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Man wants to control from the top but Henderson keeps moving. Man thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Henderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Henderson wants to hit a switch here but Man passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Henderson there! Man prevents Henderson from getting the reversal. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Man connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Henderson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Henderson moves into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Man lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Man trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Henderson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Man is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Man is breathing heavily. Henderson wants to sweep but no luck. Henderson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Man is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Henderson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Henderson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Henderson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Man postures up.
Man wants to stand but Henderson is controlling his posture from full guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Man must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Henderson pulls Man in to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Man drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Henderson throws Man to one side and escapes! Man misses with a shot to the body and Henderson counters by moving into the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Man manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Henderson tries to keep at a distance but Man has taken the fight into the clinch. Henderson manages to pull guard.
Henderson keeping moving, preventing Man from controlling successfully. Man is posturing up here but Henderson has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Man tries to roll out but it's too tight and Man has to tap! Slick submission there by Henderson!
