Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ervin Rowe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Conor Larkin! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rowe avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Larkin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rowe counters with a left and a right that stings Larkin. Conor Larkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Larkin closes the distance and pushes Rowe back into the cage. Larkin avoids the elbow strike from Rowe, against the cage.
Larkin stops a takedown attempt from Rowe.
Larkin lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Larkin gets through Rowe's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Nice body punch from Larkin. Larkin stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Larkin lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Larkin manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Larkin pushes Rowe back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Larkin pushes Rowe back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Larkin gets through Rowe's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Rowe is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Larkin dips a shoulder and cracks Rowe with a mighty uppercut! Rowe falls back against the cage and Larkin unloads with a barrage of strikes! Rowe is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Larkin screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Conor Larkin! Our winner, Conor Larkin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
