Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Beni Nikaido!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanma misses with a low kick.
Nikaido gets the takedown into side control.
Nikaido tries to advance to mount but Hanma denies him.
An elbow from Nikaido crashes against the mat.
Nikaido goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hanma rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Nikaido's guard! Nice work there by Hanma!
Nikaido not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nikaido looking for a guillotine here but Hanma defends easily.
Hanma stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Hanma scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Hanma misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nikaido tries to bum rush Hanma with a series of wild strikes but Hanma uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A right-left combo lands from Nikaido.
Nikaido tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hanma swivels and escapes.
Nikaido tries to clinch up but Hanma circles away and keeps his distance.
Beni Nikaido seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nikaido pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nikaido tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Hanma throws a left and a right that both miss
and Nikaido counters with a shoot takedown. Hanma fights it but they end up in guard.
Nikaido advances to half guard.
Nikaido tries to pass to full mount but Hanma defends it.
Nikaido passes the guard and advances to mount!
Hanma is breathing heavily.

Nikaido is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hanma has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nikaido goes for an armbar but Hanma turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hanma.
Nikaido can't keep his opponent in guard - Hanma advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Hanma missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Nikaido is looking for a sweep. Hanma is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nikaido moves into full guard.
Hanma is posturing up here but Nikaido has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Hanma tries to roll out but it's too tight and Hanma has to tap! Slick submission there by Nikaido!
