Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pat Barry (ranked 3570 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Rampage (ranked 5262 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Barry might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sweet Dreams. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
36 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Pat Barry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lewis Rampage! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Donatello Bradman and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rampage gets a takedown into half guard. Barry is looking to improve his position.
Rampage throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rampage prevents Barry from improving his position. Rampage passes to side control. Barry tries to get back to half guard but can't. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rampage tries for a kimura but Barry is defending well. Barry is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Barry definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rampage stands up and we're back to a striking position. Barry clinches. Rampage tries to land knees in the clinch but Barry avoids the damage to the body. Barry wants to take the fight to the mat but Rampage manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Rampage breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Barry feints a jab promting Rampage to slip. Barry then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rampage slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Rampage stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rampage wants it to stay on the feet. Rampage feints the counter takedown. Rampage gets the takedown into side control. Barry tries to get back to half guard but can't. Barry is trying to control Rampage's posture but Rampage avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rampage stands up. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Barry misses with a takedown attempt - Rampage sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pat Barry. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rampage leaves Barry with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Barry keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Barry closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Barry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rampage slaps away a takedown attempt from Barry, before circling back to the center of the mat. Barry misses with the body kick and Rampage counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Rampage chips away with some ground and pound. Rampage must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Barry working a defensive guard here.
Barry keeping moving, preventing Rampage from controlling successfully. Barry is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Rampage wants to control from the top but Barry keeps moving. Rampage in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rampage looking to sit in guard and control but Barry gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barry seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Barry wanted to stand there but Rampage had control of the position. Barry looking to pass the guard. Rampage not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

A close round but Lewis Rampage will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Barry instigates a clinch. Barry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Barry throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Rampage drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Barry defends it well. Rampage moves into the clinch. Rampage crunches a lovely knee into Barry's ribcage. Barry breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rampage dodges the punch combination from Barry.
Rampage is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Barry closes the distance and pushes Rampage back into the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rampage misses with a hook from the clinch. Rampage trying to land knees to the body.

Barry shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rampage but Rampage pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barry closes the distance and clinches. Barry tries to circle away but Rampage has him pinned against the cage. Barry is working for takedown but Rampage is calmly controlling the position for now. Rampage keeps control of Barry as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Barry blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Rampage goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Barry is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rampage to keep the fight standing. Rampage can't get the takedown.

Barry pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Barry motions for Rampage to come forward. Barry throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Barry looking to score a takedown here. Rampage is defending well but Barry drives through and ends up in Rampage's guard. Barry content to stall in guard here. Barry won't allow Rampage to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barry wants to stand but Rampage has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Barry is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Rampage looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barry is one step ahead there. Rampage looking to control but Barry passes into half guard.
Rampage tries to roll over but Barry keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Barry controlling the action here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Rampage keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Barry shoots in looking for a takedown. Rampage tries to sprawl out of it but Barry keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rampage manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barry wanted to stand there but Rampage had control of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Barry controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Barry throws a big elbow that misses. Barry tries to free his leg and advance position but Rampage is retaining full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Rampage tries for a takedown but Barry sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Barry misses with a combination
and Rampage counters with a low kick, right behind Barry 's knee.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barry shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rampage defends it nicely. Rampage closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Rampage decides to stand back up. Rampage shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Barry is trying to defend but Rampage finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rampage in particular looking to stall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rampage wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barry keeps working. Rampage is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lewis Rampage has got the better of the ground game so far. Barry is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Rampage lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rampage prevents Barry from improving his position. Rampage is looking for a kimura here.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Lewis Rampage. I think Rampage has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
