Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hanyu Lee (ranked 3711 p4p, 389 weight class) and Sagat Shanti (ranked 2767 p4p, 304 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hanyu Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sagat Shanti!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Topper Green and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shanti throws a poor cross that misses
and Lee counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Lee throws a lazy head kick
and Shanti counters with a nice body shot.
Lee on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Shanti throws a hook but Lee avoids it easily.
Lee tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lee wants to clinch up but Shanti keeps it at a distance.
It seemed like Shanti was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Lee ducks under a wild hook from Shanti.
Shanti throws a right and a left that both miss.
Shanti stalks Lee and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lee's face. Lee staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Hanyu Lee has been cut.
Shanti shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense.
Lee looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Shanti's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lee under the eye.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shanti lands an overhand right.
Lee is rocked!
Lee tries to clinch but Shanti is having none of it.
Oh Lee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shanti scores with a sloppy right hand. Lee should have avoided that one.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Shanti has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Lee avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Shanti ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lee moves away.
A swing and a miss from Lee.
Shanti with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lee to score with a decent uppercut.
Shanti misses with an uppercut.
Lee appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Lee seems to have got his legs back now.

Shanti misses with a straight left.
Lee moves away from the strike by Shanti.
Lee lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shanti paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sagat Shanti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Lee throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lee fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Shanti.
Shanti throws a hook but Lee blocks it.
Lee connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shanti. Shanti circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Lee pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lee ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shanti.
Shanti misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Lee counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Shanti dives in and scores a takedown into Lee's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shanti postures up in Lee's guard and throws a big left but Lee blocks it.
Shanti stands up over Lee, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Lee wants to stand and escape but Shanti is having none of it.

Shanti lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Lee had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shanti defends it easily.

Shanti is working Lee over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Shanti is in close to Lee's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shanti throws a big elbow that misses.

Shanti really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lee. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shanti lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Lee! More strikes land and this one is all over! Shanti jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Sagat Shanti was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
