Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sam Showck Showck! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Di Pinha! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Showck shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pinha as he avoids it easily. Pinha tries for a takedown but Showck circles away easily and Showck counters with a takedown into side control. Showck working away. Showck tries to move into full mount but can't pass Pinha's legs. Showck is working hard here to advance position. Pinha controls the position for a moment. Showck stands up and we're back to a striking position. Showck doesn't succeed with the takedown and Pinha counters by moving into the clinch.

The is referee keeping an eye on Pinha - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Showck wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Pinha uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Pinha wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Showck drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pinha dives on top into guard. Pinha works over Showck with some ground and pound from guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Showck tries to avoid it but Pinha manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Showck to the ground. Showck escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Showck tries for a takedown but Pinha circles away easily and Pinha makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Showck is looking to clinch. Di Pinha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pinha closes the distance but Showck moves to the side so Showck counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pinha is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Showck tries to get to full guard but Pinha has control of the leg. Showck moves into full guard.
Pinha passes easily into side control. Nice work. Showck wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pinha closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Pinha successfully pulls guard.

Pinha lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Showck! Sam Showck Showck overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Showck regains half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pinha is looking to take a break and control but Showck is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pinha stalling away here and it's allowed Showck to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Showck has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Pinha off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Pinha has his takedown stuffed and Showck makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Showck shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pinha but Pinha pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Showck shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Showck tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Pinha. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Showck wants to pass to mount but Pinha is defending the position. Pinha regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pinha doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Showck drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Showck jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Pinha tries to clinch but Showck moves away and Showck counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Showck is working for a submission of some sort.
Showck has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Showck with good strikes from the mount here!
And that's the end of the fight! Sam Showck Showck showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Showck, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
