The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodrigues looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Macedo!

Rodrigues is working for a guillotine from mount but Macedo frees his head quite easily.
Rodrigues wants to take Macedo's back but he can't do it this time.
Macedo is desperately trying to improve his position but Rodrigues has a good base and remains in mount.
Macedo throwing hammer fists to the chest of Rodrigues. What's that going to do exactly?

Rodrigues goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Macedo is on top in guard.

Rodrigues escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Macedo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Rodrigues decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Macedo's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Macedo is on top in guard.

Rodrigues drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rodrigues jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
