Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eric Alequin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jonnhy Eight! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eight steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Alequin. Eight let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Eight throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A swing and a miss from Alequin. We've been informed that Eight has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Alequin misses with a left hand and Eight counters with a straight right hand. Alequin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Eight avoids it really well and circles away. Eight throws a body shot but no joy. A big left from Alequin misses. Alequin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Eight really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alequin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Alequin works to advance to full mount. Eight defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Alequin mounts Eight! Really nice guard pass there! Alequin trying to control but he's not successful this time. Alequin throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Eight has his hands clasped together but Alequin breaks the hold and Eight is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Alequin!
