The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ja stuns Nevez with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ja lands a nice shot that snaps Nevez's head back.
The fighters circling - Ja throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nevez misses with a wild combination.
Nice defenses there by Ja.
Nevez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nevez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slow jab from Ja misses its intended target.
Nevez appears to be looking for a big counter.
Ja misses the jab.
Ja uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nevez.
Ja looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Nevez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and Ja takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Nevez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Nevez jabs Ja to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Nevez definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ja misses with a two punch combination.
Nevez throws a body punch but Ja moves out of range.
Ja scores with a nice head shot.

Ruben Nevez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ja throws a hook to the side of Nevez's head but Nevez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Nevez throws the left hand but Ja avoids the punch easily.
A countering left hand to the body from Ja misses.
Ja cracks Nevez with an open hand slap.
Nevez jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nevez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nevez dips to his left and cracks Ja with an uppercut!
A cross from Nevez lands.
Nevez blocks a jab.

Nevez swings for the body but Ja moves out of range.
Ja appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Ja might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nevez. Ja does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nevez loads up on a big right hand but Ja slips the punch.
Nevez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Ja is rocked!
Nevez lands a big right hook! Ja looks hurt but is still standing! Nevez lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Ja falls down and Nevez dives in with a huge hammer fist! Ja's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Nevez runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Ruben Nevez decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
