Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ling Yuan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Holden McLoughlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLoughlin has chosen Home For A Rest by Spirit Of The West as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLoughlin tries to bum rush Yuan with a series of wild strikes but Yuan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Yuan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
McLoughlin wants to control but Yuan postures up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The referee asks Yuan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Yuan prefers to stall for the moment though.
McLoughlin misses with a strike from the bottom.
McLoughlin is looking to reverse the position.

McLoughlin sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

McLoughlin is positioning himself well to prevent Yuan advancing to mount.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Yuan is looking to advance position but McLoughlin won't allow it.
Yuan frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Yuan wants to control the pace but McLoughlin is squirming around nicely.
Yuan prevents McLoughlin from getting the reversal.
McLoughlin tries to control Yuan's body but Yuan pushes him off. McLoughlin squirms to his side and now Yuan has his back!

McLoughlin rolls, trying to escape but Yuan keeps control of the position.
Yuan wants to control but McLoughlin is keeping busy.

Yuan connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for McLoughlin to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

McLoughlin tries to clinch up.
McLoughlin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McLoughlin moves out of range as Yuan throws a body kick.
McLoughlin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
McLoughlin throws a solid leg kick but Yuan takes the impact on his shin and smiles at McLoughlin.
McLoughlin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Holden McLoughlin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McLoughlin doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Yuan counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
McLoughlin is looking for a sweep. Yuan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Yuan wants to control but McLoughlin is keeping him busy.
Yuan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Yuan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McLoughlin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

McLoughlin is trying to control Yuan's posture. Yuan takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for McLoughlin! Yuan is rotating here... this could be the end... McLoughlin is out! Yuan has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
