PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Dupuis (ranked 7388 p4p, 635 weight class) and Sledge Harrison (ranked 24580 p4p, 719 weight class). Dupuis comes to the ring accompanied by Out for a Rip by Brendan Richmond. Harrison has chosen Sex Machine by James Brown as his entrance music. David Dupuis could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sledge Harrison's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Dupuis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sledge Harrison!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dupuis scores with a shot to the body.
Dupuis throws a body punch but Harrison moves out of range.
We've been told by Dupuis's head coaches at Jitsu Jim that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Harrison shoots in but Dupuis avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Harrison takes one on the chin but seems OK.


It looks like Sledge Harrison has been cut.
Harrison closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Dupuis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Harrison.
Harrison closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dupuis circles away.
David Dupuis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sledge Harrison.
Harrison shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dupuis sprawls well. Dupuis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Harrison gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dupuis throws a head kick but Harrison moves out of range.
Harrison tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
A bone on bone clash there as Harrison blocks the leg kick.

Dupuis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Harrison looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Harrison avoids a punch combination nicely.
David Dupuis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dupuis lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Dupuis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Harrison has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dupuis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Harrison working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dupuis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dupuis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Dupuis stands and steps away. Harrison gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Dupuis throws a combination. Harrison tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Dupuis throws a body punch but Harrison moves out of range.
David Dupuis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dupuis throws a wild body kick that Harrison sees coming a mile off.
Harrison shoots in for a takedown but Dupuis shows good takedown defense.
Harrison moves out of range as Dupuis strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Horrible takedown attempt by Harrison or perhaps it was just good defense by Dupuis, which made it look bad.
The fight stays on the outside here - Harrison looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Crunch! Dupuis slams his shin into Harrison's torso.
Harrison is breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dupuis throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Harrison crashing down! Harrison tries to stagger back to his feet but Dupuis just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Harrison asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Dupuis!
A victorious David Dupuis thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
The defeated Sledge Harrison had this to say: 'I'm just gonna get right back up! Ain't nothing stopping the groovy lovin' sex machine! Right on baby!'.
