Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chosu Viv! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sammy Gravano! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Viv takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Viv has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Holding Cell in the buildup to the fight. Gravano throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Viv has a takedown stuffed. Viv shoots in for a takedown but Gravano shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Viv is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gravano sees it coming and defends easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Viv takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Viv drops an elbow to the side of Gravano's head. Viv is looking for a kimura but Gravano is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Viv to get the leverage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Viv scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Gravano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Viv. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Viv is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Gravano still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Gravano has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Viv wants to get back to his feet but Gravano drags him back down. The strikes coming from Gravano are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Viv wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Viv is trying to maintain the position but Gravano is very close to passing his half guard. My spies in Lock and Roll Gym inform me that Gravano has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Viv tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Viv scores with a few weak punches. Viv landing rabbit punches to the side of Gravano's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points. Viv actively working from the bottom here.

Gravano throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Viv landing a few short strikes. Viv is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gravano pulls his head out easily. Viv flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Viv blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gravano. Viv keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Gravano thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gravano stops Viv from getting back to his feet.
Viv gets full guard. Viv has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Gravano doesn't defend quickly enough and Viv has managed to lock this one up! Can Gravano escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Viv on a fantastic submission victory.
