Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Aslanyan (ranked 2846 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shamil Saadulaev (ranked 2633 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arthur Aslanyan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shamil Saadulaev! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saadulaev drives through with a takedown into Aslanyan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Saadulaev pushing down on Aslanyan's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Ground and pound from Saadulaev. Saadulaev scoring with strikes to the body and head. Aslanyan tries to roll over but Saadulaev keeps him under control. Aslanyan is working hard here to advance position. Saadulaev looks to score some points with some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Saadulaev controlling the pace. Saadulaev blocks the strikes from Aslanyan.
Saadulaev moves into full mount! Aslanyan won't be happy about that!
That's one minute gone in the round. Saadulaev controlling his opponent. Saadulaev lands with some strikes. Aslanyan keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Saadulaev is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Aslanyan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Saadulaev looking for a guillotine from mount but Aslanyan is having none of it. Saadulaev takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aslanyan is squirming around, avoiding Saadulaev's attempts to control the action. Saadulaev controlling his opponent. Aslanyan gets back to half guard. Saadulaev perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Saadulaev is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aslanyan flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Saadulaev controlling the pace. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Saadulaev drops an elbow to the side of Aslanyan's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Well, if Saadulaev is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Aslanyan tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Saadulaev passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Aslanyan! Saadulaev landing strikes from the mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Saadulaev landing shots from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Saadulaev landing strikes, looking to finish! Aslanyan is trying to escape the mount.

Aslanyan shoots in for a takedown but Saadulaev shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Saadulaev throws a right and a left that Aslanyan avoids nicely. Saadulaev shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Aslanyan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Saadulaev wants to stand but Aslanyan is controlling his posture from full guard. Aslanyan throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Saadulaev wants to stand and escape but instead Aslanyan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Saadulaev holds on and takes a little breather. Saadulaev wants to sweep here but Aslanyan controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saadulaev wants to stand and escape but Aslanyan is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Saadulaev avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Aslanyan postures up in Saadulaev's guard and throws a big left but Saadulaev blocks it. Aslanyan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Saadulaev looking to control.
Aslanyan stopping the sweep attempt from Saadulaev. Saadulaev is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Saadulaev bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Aslanyan's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aslanyan keeping moving, preventing Saadulaev from controlling successfully. Aslanyan throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Aslanyan wants to stand and escape but Saadulaev is having none of it. Saadulaev lands a couple of digs. Saadulaev landing some decent shots from guard. Saadulaev controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Saadulaev gets to his feet. Aslanyan looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saadulaev looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Aslanyan has momentary wrist control but Saadulaev slips an elbow through the middle. Saadulaev throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Saadulaev trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Aslanyan wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Saadulaev manages to pass to side control. Saadulaev sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Saadulaev is pressing down on Aslanyan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Aslanyan is holding on for now. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Saadulaev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Aslanyan keeps working. Saadulaev lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Aslanyan wants to sweep but Saadulaev has passed to side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shamil Saadulaev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Saadulaev seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Aslanyan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Saadulaev looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Aslanyan taking some punishment here, with Saadulaev in his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Saadulaev slows the pace down in half guard. Saadulaev tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Aslanyan. Aslanyan is trying to get back to full guard. Saadulaev wants to pass the guard but Aslanyan is defending well. Saadulaev working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saadulaev is trying to control. Aslanyan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Saadulaev seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Aslanyan is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
